May in Geneva. It is
attended by delegations
from all 193 Member States
who determine the policies
of the Organization. IAPO
are delighted that this
year, alongside IAPO
Governing Board Members
and staff, a number of
IAPO Members will be
attending the WHA on our
behalf. This is an
important opportunity for
IAPO to ensure that the
global patient voice is
heard by healthcare
decision makers.

Global Health – Washington
DC, USA – 13-17 June 2011
The Global Health Council’s

Health will focus on
important healthcare
issues such as chronic
disease and balancing
health needs. Speakers
include representative
from the Pan American
Health Organization (PAHO),
the Harvard Global Equity
Initiative and the African
Centre for Global Health
and Social Transformation.

Hearing on Non-communicable
Diseases – New York, USA –
16 June 2011
Leading up to the High-level
meeting of the UN General
Assembly on the prevention
and control of Non-communicable
Diseases in September the
UN will be holding an
informal hearing for Civil
Society Organisations.
IAPO has registered to
attend this event as it
will be an importance
chance to make sure that
patients are involved at
all stages in the fight
against the growing burden
of non-communicable
diseases.
